Our Space is Spoken For is an initiative by TWIN CITIES MEDIA ALLIANCE where community members and POCI (people of color and indigenous) artists come together to reclaim space. This program aims to rewrite narratives of how historically marginalized communities navigate, define and negotiate the spaces in which we work, live and play.
Our Space is Spoken For collects stories around space from members of historically marginalized communities in St. Paul and pass selected stories to POCI artist teams to create performance pieces. These pieces are then performed in the spaces the stories are based on and documented into a film to be screened with the public.
